Hickory Tree is an award-winning women's chorus dedicated to the all-American art form of singing four-part a cappella harmony in barbershop style. 2009 marks our 41st anniversary! We hope you will join us for our Upcoming Performances.
Tradition of Excellence Continues
Hickory Tree Chorus was awarded the bronze medal in Sweet Adelines International's Greater New York Regional chorus contest on March 28, 2009 in Philadelphia, PA. It is the 25th Regional medal awarded the chorus, and our 12th under Master Director Carolyn Schmidt. We continued our tradition of excellence by achieving our highest-ever score, performing the ballad "If You Love Me" and the uptune "Lulu's Back In Town." We were also extremely proud that four of our members were awarded medals for their performances with the quartets Escape and Drive!
Making their stage debut were four new chorus members, graduates of Hickory Tree Chorus's January Sing A Cappella series of workshops. The women qualified to compete after dedicating eight weeks to perfecting notes, artistry, and choreography. They were fortunate to benefit from coaching by one of several distinguished coaches who worked with us this year, and enjoyed the educational support of the chorus Music and Showmanship teams.
Hickory Tree Chorus members are busy learning new music, choreography, and vocal production skills for upcoming performances. We look forward to meeting guests at our July Sing A Cappella series of workshops and welcoming new members. Love to sing? Join the chorus, join the fun!

Hickory Tree Chorus members meet regularly to practice, socialize, perform and sing a cappella four-part harmony music, barbershop style. We are looking for singers to join members from 40 area communities who value the joy of singing chord-ringing, fun-filled music.
Only June Open House visitors can receive FREE first month membership if they join by September 30, 2009.

Annual Scholarship
UPDATE! We are once again pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship to a musically talented young woman interested in pursuing a career in music. Qualified high school senior girls with good academic records and exceptional talent in vocal music are encouraged to apply. The deadline is April 24, 2009.
